It's Moving time....

We have been in Georgia since the middle of February. I have loved every second of being here. Really, I love the area, our friends here, and what we've been able to do. Towards the end of my husbands course they tell us to make a list of where we'd like to move next and gave us around 18 choices.

AWESOME!!! My favorites were on there! Colorado, Hawaii, Washington, ect. The possibilities were endless. We talked for hours over what our possibilities were, the seasons we would experience, the opportunities we'd have as a family in each of our favorite spots. We had been told by several people that "Oh, don't worry, they say you'll get your top 6 but we've never heard of anyone coming from Polk not getting their first choice". Perfect! We were stoked!!! Husband went to the initial meeting and they man had explained that because of the fact that my husband is a younger captain that they will be placing the older captains in the command spots so that they can get on with their careers. Ok. Fine. Got it! We will get our chance for that later. He was then told that he would be getting a training position or a spot at a base that had a lot of openings. Such as Hawaii, Kansas, or Texas.

I would gooooo anywhere buuuuuuut Texas. I was tired of the south, tired of being hot, and wanted my children to experience something else  education else where. Awesome, we put Kansas in our top 3 knowing that there were a lot of spots there and we thought we'd be a shoe in. As husband was leaving this meeting the man circled Indiana 5 times with a red pen and said "oh, and this one would be a good one to put in your top choices". We didn't do that because, errrrr, Indiana. What the heck was there? Never even knew the Army sent people there. We ignored him.

Well that was stupid. (5 red circles should have tipped us off) A little fishy to me that it seems that they knew where they were sending him along. Why give his wife hopes and dreams and then shoot them down. Should have just not shown us the possibilities and just assign us. It would have been easier for me to swallow. It will be fun and If we did Fort Polk and Walter Reed this should be nothing. However, I really had fun plans for Hawaii ;)

We are off to Indiana in October. So here is to new beginnings and figuring out what Indiana is all about.
