staying alive...

So, about 2 weeks ago I was on top of the world.... for about an hour!

It was my first day home by myself with 2 under 2. We had Mollie's follow up Drs appointment this day. I was sooo nervous. I didn't think i could make it and keep everyone sane through the appt and then back home. Of course her appt was during Jamo's nap time. I planned and made sure he took a nap 2 hours early. I was hesitant that he'd go down but he did!!! Conquered hurdle #1 like a champ. Hurdle #2 was that we'd have to leave for base at lunch time. During nap time I packed us lunches tot eat in the car and while we were waiting and then Mollie and I both got a nap :) Smooth sailing... We all got up, got both into the car and hit the highway with my 90's music on. We got to base 20 minutes early!!! I'm on top of the WORLD!!!!! pulled into a parking space that wasn't 15 miles from the door and looked out the corner of my eye to see the car next to me rocking! That's right, i hit the car next to us pulling in. I got out and looked at the other car, minor scratch on pain. I thought I was good to go, saw my bumper and noticed i had ripped part of the corner off my car.  UGHHHHHH. I called jimmy sobbing, telling him I destroyed the front of my car. In hormonal girl code that meant something happened. In husband's mind he had his fingers crossed that I totaled the car (we hate my car and want a new one). Everything got settled with insurance and my on top of the world felt like the inner circles of hell.

Fast forward to today.
(Jameson was up all night with teeth pain and bad dreams so I had a grand total of 2 hours of sleep )
I had to take the car to the repair shop. They said bring it in anytime after 7:30am and the rental car company will pick you up, you'll get the rental car and be on your way. Easy! The kids and I got up at 7:00, ate some berries and headed out the door. got to the repair shop and had to wait for 45 minutes for the rental car company. With a baby screaming because she has gas and a toddler screaming because every car that passed (we were on one of the busiest roads) was his. The rental car guy came with other people in the car and one seat left. Are you kidding me? How am I going to get my 2 kids and their carseats and myself to the car place??? Que panicked call to Jimmy and he got to us to help. So we followed behind the rental guy to the place to pick up car. We come around the corner and park where they told us to, right behind the guy we were following. Jimmy gets out to go inside and deal with the paperwork. Que screaming children again. I turn around from trying to put the pacifier into Mollie's mouth to see a Black, huge truck back right into us. Yup, ya heard me! The rental car guy backed right into us. I put my head in my hand and laughed to the point of tears. Oh, the irony.
So, we sit for another hour until they get the paper work figured out. They wanted us to carry the kids across a fence to get to the rental car. SAY WHAT!? Apparently they can't park where they told us to park. Jimmy had a few choice of Adult vocabulary with them. They then brought us our rental car. The biggest baddest Dodge Ram they could find. Are you kidding me, I brought my sedan because I can't pull it into a parking space. You expect me to drive a dodge RAM! Get out of here! I decided to try it, if the carseats can fit then I guess I can handle it and will just say a rosary every time I go to drive it. Oh but the car seats don't fit...... They told me they'd fit and no problem, ma'am! Riiiiight! There we wait, another hour for them to tell us they have to vacuum and wash the car. BHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, cue angry, tired mamma. Finally we are able to leave to take our car back to the repair shop, we go all the way home and realize.......

drum roll....

We left the house key on the key ring at the repair shop. We are locked out of the house!!!!! Luckily we are in a complex that has extra keys....

I don't think I should have any more children, I'm barely keeping the ones I have intact.

I'm thinking today is a movie, pj, lots of caffeine day :)

  1. Make sure you talk to the branch manager and the regional manager. They need to know you will not be giving them a completely satisfied when they call and survey you. They will kiss your dairy air to make you happy and give them a completely satisfied! Trust me....been there, ridden the redo of working there, got the t-shirt.
